Ipswich Town defender Christophe Berra is understood to be on the verge of signing a long-term contract extension with the club.
The Scotland international, 29, is entering the final year of his current deal at Portman Road.
Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy is now eager for Berra to commit his future to the team ahead of the new season, according to Sky Sports News.
Berra, who made 45 appearances during the last campaign, joined the Tractor Boys from Wolverhampton Wanderers last summer.
Ipswich start the new Championship season at home to Fulham on August 9.
