Iran captain Javad Nekounam has claimed that his side need to improve their finishing following Monday's goalless draw with Nigeria at the World Cup.
Despite being out of possession for much of the stalemate, the Iranians squandered a handful of good chances to earn the victory.
While admitting that his team can get better in front of goal, Nekounam believes that a draw was a good result for Iran.
"We could have snatched a win in the last 20 minutes, but we lacked the finishing touch. I think that's the area we need to improve in," the midfielder told FIFA.com.
"When you consider that a lot of our players were making their World Cup debuts, it's been a very good day for us."
Iran continue their campaign on Saturday when they play Argentina in Belo Horizonte.
