Italy midfielder Andrea Pirlo has hailed his side's Euro 2016 Group H qualifier win against Azerbaijan, believing that the Azzurri are now a different proposition to previous times.

Defender Giorgio Chiellini scored a brace and an own goal as Antonio Conte's charges recorded a 2-1 victory in Palermo.

Pirlo told reporters after the game: "This is a different Italy compared to the past.

"Previously, we would have drawn games like this. Instead tonight we had the strength and the will to win the game."

The Azzurri currently have a 100% record under new manager Conte.
