Pablo Daniel Osvaldo has reportedly been dropped from Cesare Prandelli's Italy squad following his verbal outburst directed at Roma coach Aurelio Andreazzoli last weekend.
Osvaldo was furious after being dropped by Andreazzoli for Sunday's Coppa Italia final against Lazio, which the Giallorossi lost 1-0 to their bitter rivals.
The forward branded his club coach as "clueless" in an attack on Twitter and has been dropped from Italy's squad for the Confederations Cup squad as punishment for his behaviour, according to Enca.
Prandelli implemented an ethics code for Azzurri players earlier this season and has decided that Osvaldo breached strict rules by publicly attacking Andreazzoli.
The 27-year-old was Roma's top scorer this season with 16 Serie A goals but faces an uncertain future at the Olimpico after consistently clashing with senior Roma figures.
Prandelli will now rely on AC Milan duo Stephan El Shaarawy and Mario Balotelli in Brazil, with a World Cup qualifier against the Czech Republic first up next week.
