Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero has reportedly become a candidate to replace Andrea Agnelli as chief at Juventus, following the European Super League fallout.

Agnelli was reported to be one of the main orchestrators for the European Super League and resigned as president of the European Club Association to become vice-chairman of the breakaway league proposal.

Majority shareholder John Elkann may relieve Agnelli from his role at the Old Lady, with a decision to be made in a shareholders' meeting on May 27.

According to the Daily Mail, former Juve striker Del Piero, who is currently working as a pundit, is being lined up as the next chief at the Italian giants.

The Italian scored 290 goals in over 700 appearances for the Turin club during a 19-year spell and has major titles to his name including a World Cup.

David Trezeguet could return with Del Piero to the club in a director's role, and has admitted that he is open to the idea. body check tags ::
