Serie A leaders Juventus lead Lazio 2-0 at half time after a dominant 45 minutes in Turin.
The home side started brightly and almost took the lead in the 14th minute as Claudio Marchisio sent a low strike towards goal, but Federico Marchetti dived low to his left and made the save.
Just three minutes later, they took the lead as Carlos Tevez latched onto the end of a long pass and stroked the ball into the back of the net.
Lazio had a golden chance to equalise eight minutes later, but Miroslav Klose blazed the ball over the bar from 10 yards.
The visitors were made to pay for that miss as Leonardo Bonucci drove forward from defence and slammed the ball past the goalkeeper.
The home side were content to sit and preserve their lead, but Lazio failed to create any further openings as their possession came to nothing for the rest of the half.
They were lucky not to fall three behind on the stroke of half time as Patrice Evra headed wide from just 10 yards.
