Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has equalled the record for consecutive clean sheets in Serie A courtesy of Juventus's 2-0 victory over Atalanta this afternoon.
The veteran goalkeeper kept his ninth consecutive league clean sheet to equal the mark set by Dino Zoff in the 1972-73 season.
Buffon has not conceded a goal in Serie A since Antonio Cassano's 64th-minute strike in a 2-1 victory over Sampdoria on January 10, a run of 843 minutes without being beaten.
The 38-year-old will look to break the record when the Old Lady host Sassuolo on Friday, with Zoff having gone 903 minutes without conceding and the all-time record of 929 minutes being held by former AC Milan keeper Sebastian Rossi from 1992-93.
Juventus themselves have also equalled the team record of nine games without conceding - a milestone they already held jointly with AC Milan.
