Juventus and Italy legend Alessandro del Piero has allegedly used his voice to awaken a girl from a coma.
12-year-old Jade had been in the coma for two weeks after falling into it while watching Juventus play.
Jade's family appealed to the football club by asking them to do whatever they could to help her wake.
The Turin club responded by sending audio and video messages that had been recorded by their all-time record goalscorer.
One of the messages said: "Hello Jade, this is Alessandro del Piero. I hope you'll wake up and come back to us as soon as possible to watch many of our games."
The tapes were played on a daily basis, as nurses attempted to get a reaction from the little girl.
Eventually, Jade reacted by moving her hand and she was fully conscious within 24 hours.
Jade's emotional father said: "This revival was wonderful. There are no words, we are overflowing with joy and gratitude for everyone; for the doctors who have worked and watched our little girl and the love that came from on high."
37-year-old Del Piero recently revealed that he will play on beyond the end of this season.
