Juventus defender Martin Caceres has suffered a suspected torn meniscus while on international duty.
Caceres picked up the knee injury during Uruguay's World Cup qualifier against Peru last weekend, which immediately ruled him out of La Celeste's clash with Colombia tomorrow night.
Uruguay's medical staff released a statement earlier today confirming that Caceres has left the squad and will fly back to Italy for further tests on the knee injury.
The 26-year-old has been largely used as defensive cover by Juve boss Antonio Conte during his two seasons in Turin, helping the Old Lady secure successive Serie A titles.
A regular for Uruguay, Caceres has represented his country 51 times that include two appearances at the 2010 World Cup.
