The agent of Gianluigi Buffon has revealed that his client turned down offers to play in the Premier League in order to return to Juventus.
The 41-year-old goalkeeper left Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season after a one-year stay in the French capital, and returns to his former club with whom he made 656 appearances over a 17-year period.
Buffon's agent Silvano Martina claims that there was interest from England, but the shot-stopper preferred a move back to Italy.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Martina commented that: "He had many offers, especially from the Premier League and from other large teams."
The report suggests that Juventus have guaranteed the former Italian international a minimum of 10 games in the forthcoming season, which would see him overtake Paolo Maldini as the leading appearance-maker of all time in Serie A.
