Italian champions Juventus have reportedly rejected an offer for Gonzalo Higuain from West Ham United.
The Hammers have identified the 31-year-old as a possible replacement for Marko Arnautovic, who left to join Chinese outfit Shanghai SIPG earlier this summer.
However, Tuttosport claims that Juventus have turned down another loan deal for Higuain as they are eager to offload him on a permanent basis.
West Ham were keen to bring the Argentine striker back to London after he spent the second half of last season on loan at Chelsea, where he scored five goals in 18 appearances across all competitions.
Higuain's future in Turin looks increasingly uncertain despite the managerial appointment of Maurizio Sarri, who worked with the player at both Napoli and Chelsea.
West Ham are in the market for attacking reinforcements this summer, having also allowed Andy Carroll and Lucas Perez to leave the club.
