Dundee ease into a 2-0 half-time lead over Kilmarnock in their opening Scottish Premiership clash at Rugby Park.

Strikes from Greg Stewart and Rory Loy have given Dundee a 2-0 half-time lead over Kilmarnock in their Scottish Premiership opener.

It was the visiting side who started the brighter as Kane Hemmings charged through on goal, but Jamie MacDonald was equal to the English striker's effort.

Dundee continued to fire away attempts at goal without truly troubling McDonald between the sticks, the closest of which came via Stewart midway through the half.

It was Stewart who finally made a breakthrough for the Dees soon after, curling a fine strike beyond McDonald to open his account for the season.

Loy then added an easy second shortly before the interval when left unmarked to fire into the roof of the net.
