Kilmarnock manager Allan Johnston takes responsibility for his side's 1-0 defeat to Dundee United.

Kilmarnock manager Allan Johnston has taken the blame for his team's 1-0 defeat at Dundee United.

The Kille boss described Nadir Ciftci's winning goal as "soft", but acknowledged that his team selection and tactics may have been at fault.

"It's a soft goal that's cost us again. It's a communication problem and we have to defend situations like that better," he told BBC Sport.

"I need to take responsibility; it's me that picks the team, it's me that decides the tactics.

"I've got good players and good characters in the dressing room and we have two really big games coming up. We just need to keep working hard and the results will come."

The result sees Kille remain second from bottom in the Scottish Premiership with three points from nine games.
