Willian Jose scored a stoppage-time winner as Las Palmas beat Real Betis 1-0 to boost their bid for survival in La Liga.
On a night when Las Palmas created the better chances, Jonathan Viera wasted an early opportunity by shooting straight at Antonio Adan after collecting a long ball.
Sergio Araujo was the next player to threaten for the hosts just a few minutes later as he pulled his shot inches wide of the post with Adan looking beaten.
Las Palmas dominated the exchanges for much of the first half, but Betis were agonisingly close to taking the lead just before the break when Ruben Castro headed just over the crossbar.
Although the patter on the game remained the same after the interval, Betis posed more of a threat on the break as Castro lifted a shot over from a tight angle.
All three of the visiting side's best chances fell to Castro, who was left frustrated once again when he headed over from Joaquin's inviting delivery.
As Las Palmas struggled to build on their promising first-half performance, Heiko Westermann almost opened the scoring for Betis late on when he found the space to send a header just over the crossbar.
There was still time for a late twist in stoppage time as a cross reached Willian Jose, who kept his composure to fire home the winner with one of the final touches of the night.
