Lazio have been dealt a blow after Mirsolav Klose suffered a suspected torn thigh muscle in the 1-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen.
Klose was forced off at the break in the first leg of the Champions League qualifying tie on Tuesday as Lazio claimed the advantage with a late winner from Keita Balde Diao, who replaced the German striker.
The 37-year-old is now set for an extended spell on the sidelines as Stefano Pioli's side wait to learn the full extent of the injury.
"Miro Klose has a suspected muscular tear in his right thigh," club doctor Stefano Salvatori told Lazio Style Radio. "Tomorrow we'll do the necessary tests in order to ascertain."
Lazio start the new Serie A season against Bologna on Saturday evening.
