Fiorentina have appointed Delio Rossi as their new manager on the same day they relieved Sinisa Mihajlovic of his duties.
The Serbian was sacked by the Florence club after a poor start to the season which has left them in 13th place in Serie A, with just 12 points from ten matches.
After meeting with the board on Monday evening, Mihajlovic was apparently asked to resign from his position, but when he refused the club sacked the former Lazio defender and replaced him with Rossi just hours later.
The 51-year-old Italian has had previous managerial spells with fellow Serie A clubs Palermo and Lazio.
His first game in charge will be against champions AC Milan in a fortnight's time.
