Lazio manager Edoardo Reja has said that his side deserved to lose their Serie A match against Catania.
The Biancocelesti fell to 3-1 defeat against the league's bottom side on Sunday.
"We didn't underestimate this test, as we knew they would be aggressive, but we were too timid in our approach," he told Sky Sport Italia.
"Catania deserved the win, as we got our approach completely wrong. In the first half I was fairly satisfied, as Stefano Mauri made his first start and gave us a sense of balance, but the second half was not a good performance.
"When we went behind the first time, we were able to fight back and create chances, but after the second goal we produced nothing. Now we have to put this game behind us and look forward to the Europa League, then Sassuolo. We must keep this performance in our minds so we can learn from it."
Lazio are currently 10th in the Serie A table.
