Vladimir Petkovic has reportedly resigned from his post at Lazio.
According to RAI Sport, the 50-year-old tendered his resignation to director Igli Tare and president Claudio Lotito following yesterday's 2-1 defeat to Atalanta - their third loss of the season.
The Biancocelesti have made a slow start to the season, winning just three of their first eight games in Serie A and leaving themselves in ninth place.
Petkovic took charge in June of last year, succeeding Edoardo Reja at the helm.
The same source reports that his predecessor is one of the names on the club's shortlist, although Serbia coach and former Aquile player Sinisa Mihajlovic is believed to be their top target.
However, other sources claim that Petkovic still has two games - against Apollon Limassol on Thursday and Cagliari next Sunday - to turn things around.
