Lazio have sealed a 1-0 win over Cagliari Calcio to tighten their grip on third place in Serie A.
Cagliari goalkeeper Michael Agazzi was twice called into action in the first 15 minutes, first from Christian Brocchi's close-range effort and then from Tommaso Rocchi.
Lazio enjoyed the lion's share of first half possession, but found Agazzi in inspired form as the teams went in level.
Agazzi was alert to deny Rocchi once more after the break as Lazio threatened to score.
Cagliari's defensive endeavours came to nothing however, when Cristian Ledesma centred for Modibo Diakite to power home an 88th-minute header.
Antonio Candreva nearly doubled Lazio's tally moments later but his right-footed shot cannoned off the crossbar.
