Lazio midfielder Antonio Candreva has insisted that the Aquile are capable of vast improvements after ending speculation over his future by signing a new long-term contract.
Candreva put pen to paper on a five-year deal at the Stadio Olimpico last week, committing his future to Lazio until 2018.
The Italy international revealed that he intends to remain a Lazio player for as long as possible, while admitting that his side have played well below their full potential so far this season.
He told Sky Sport Italia: "I am very happy to have renewed with Lazio. I thank the club for giving me this opportunity and hope to remain here as long as possible.
"We started the season a little slowly, but we're fully aware of what a good team we are.
"We need to plug ourselves right back in, though it's not easy after a break for international duty."
The 26-year-old has become a firm favourite in the Italian capital after signing initially on loan in 2012, helping Lazio lift silverware with victory in the Coppa Italia last season.
