Sports Mole

Southampton vs. Leeds (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Two of the Championship's newly-relegated sides will do battle at St Mary's on Saturday, as Southampton entertain Leeds United.

Following a run of four straight defeats, the hosts sit 15th in the Championship table under Russell Martin, while their visitors have enjoyed a climb to sixth spot thanks to their more impressive run in recent weeks.

We say: Southampton 0-2 Leeds United

Southampton are yet to fully hit their stride under Russell Martin, and pressure is certainly growing around St Mary's, while their visitors are quickly building momentum and appear to be more proficient at both ends of the pitch than the Saints.

We fancy Farke's side to put up another clean sheet and return to Yorkshire with three more points on Saturday.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Bristol City vs. Stoke (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Bristol City play host to Stoke City on Saturday afternoon looking for the win that could move the club into the Championship playoff spots.

At a time when the home side sit in ninth position in the standings, Stoke are down in 20th place with Alex Neil fighting to save his job at the bet365 Stadium.

We say: Bristol City 2-1 Stoke City

Even in defeat to Leicester, Bristol City gave a positive account of themselves, and that should stand them in good stead this weekend. Stoke look like they are making no progress under Neil, leading us to predict a home win, albeit by a narrow margin.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Cardiff vs. Rotherham (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Cardiff City will aim to make it four league wins on the bounce and break into the top six of the Championship table on Saturday, when they welcome Rotherham United to South Wales.

The Bluebirds currently sit seventh having won four of their last five league outings, while their visitors find themselves 23rd with just five points from their eight games thus far.

We say: Cardiff City 2-0 Rotherham United

Cardiff City will be full of confidence on the back of three consecutive league wins, with the mood and quality around the Bluebirds camp dramatically improved under Bulut this season, while Rotherham are devoid of any real form heading into Saturday's tough trip, and we do not fancy the Millers to spring any surprises in South Wales this weekend.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Huddersfield vs. Ipswich (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Darren Moore will oversee his first home game as Huddersfield Town manager on Saturday, when the Terriers welcome high-flying Ipswich Town to the John Smith's Stadium.

The new boss began with a draw in dramatic fashion against Coventry City on Monday, while their visitors travel to Yorkshire on the back of four consecutive league wins, sitting second in the Championship table as a result, and a midweek cup triumph.

We say: Huddersfield Town 1-2 Ipswich Town

Huddersfield are growing in confidence having gone four games without defeat, and they will certainly be no pushovers, particularly on home turf, but we do not see the Terriers having enough quality to match their in-form visitors and see McKenna's men leaving with another three-point haul.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Hull City vs. Plymouth (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Both aiming to build on victories last weekend, Hull City and Plymouth Argyle will do battle at the MKM Stadium on Saturday.

The hosts find themselves fourth in the Championship table thanks to a seven-match unbeaten run in the league, while their visitors climbed into the top half with a thrashing of Norwich City last time out.

We say: Hull City 2-1 Plymouth Argyle

Plymouth Argyle have certainly impressed at points since their promotion and have the ability to cause any side problems, particularly with their attacking talent, but the Pilgrims are yet to demonstrate the consistency that their hosts have thus far, and we fancy Rosenior's men to put up another impressive victory at the weekend.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Millwall vs. Swansea (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Millwall head into their Championship fixture with Swansea City on Saturday afternoon looking to extend their unbeaten streak to three matches.

While the Lions occupy 11th position in the table, the visitors are only outside of the relegation zone courtesy of ending their winless streak last time out.

We say: Millwall 2-1 Swansea City

This has all the makings of being a hard-fought contest, particularly with Swansea having got back on track last weekend. Nevertheless, Millwall may prove tough to beat on home territory, leading us to opt for a narrow triumph for the East Londoners.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Norwich vs. Birmingham (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Both aiming to put an end to their respective winless streaks, Norwich City welcome an out-of-form Birmingham City side to Carrow Road on Saturday afternoon in the Championship.

The Canaries were demolished in the league last Saturday before exiting the EFL Cup in the week, whereas Blues have had eight days to mull over a goalless draw with Queens Park Rangers last time out.

We say: Norwich City 1-1 Birmingham City

Norwich produced a promising performance at Craven Cottage despite bowing out of the EFL Cup, but the Canaries will still need to start brightly on Saturday to erase memories of their capitulation against Plymouth last weekend.

Birmingham face three matches in the space of seven days as they battle with an ongoing injury crisis, although with a week's break under their belts, Eustace's men should be able to collect a point on Saturday.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Preston vs. West Brom (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Preston North End will be bidding to extend their unbeaten Championship streak to nine matches when they host West Bromwich Albion at Deepdale.

At a time when the home side head into Saturday's contest sitting in third position in the standings, West Brom are down in 13th spot courtesy of three successive draws.

We say: Preston North End 1-0 West Bromwich Albion

West Brom arguably had the more notable result of these two teams last weekend, it unclear how Preston will react to dropping points at Rotherham. However, they deserve respect for their previous winning streak, and we feel that they may edge this fixture with a win and clean sheet.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

QPR vs. Coventry (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Queens Park Rangers play host to Coventry City on Saturday afternoon looking to build on posting two successive draws in the Championship.

That has left the Hoops in 19th position in the standings at a time when Coventry had dropped down to 18th after struggling to get wins on the board in 2023-24.

We say: Queens Park Rangers 1-2 Coventry City

Everything points to this being somewhat of a nervy fixture with both sides struggling for momentum in 2023-24. While QPR may hope to impress on familiar territory, we are expecting Coventry to click into gear at some stage, and that could happen at Loftus Road.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Watford vs. Middlesbrough (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Watford play host to Middlesbrough on Saturday afternoon looking to hit back from their heavy defeat to Leeds United last time out.

The Hornets now sit in 16th position in the Championship table ahead of facing a Boro side who, while remaining in the relegation zone, appear to be finding some form.

We say: Watford 1-1 Middlesbrough

On the basis of their most recent results, there is an argument that Boro are now favourites to prevail from this contest. Nevertheless, we cannot get carried away by Boro's form in the short term, and a low-scoring draw is probably the most likely outcome.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.
