Steve Evans has confirmed that Chris Wood will play no part for Leeds United during their FA Cup clash away at Watford on Saturday.
There had been suggestions that the striker was due to return for the trip to Vicarage Road, having spent the previous three weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring problem.
However, Evans has now revealed that the Kiwi has picked up a virus.
"Chris won't make it for the weekend. I'm never one to sit there and give hope when there's not and he's just not quite right," he told reporters.
"We can't establish whether it's his hamstring because he's just got a little virus that gives you a problem top to bottom and people will know what I mean by that. That completely rules him out and that would have ruled him out on his own."
Wood has found the net eight times in all competitions this season.
