Loftus Road, meanwhile, saw a seven-goal thriller as Queens Park Rangers fell to a 5-2 defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest, Lee Tomlin scoring twice to end the Reds' recent winless run.

Burton Albion remain stuck in the bottom three after succumbing to a 1-0 home loss against Millwall, while Leeds United ended their 10-match winless run with a 1-0 victory over Brentford.

Elsewhere in the Championship, Ipswich Town won 1-0 at Preston North End, while East Anglian rivals Norwich City were held to a goalless draw at home to Bolton Wanderers.
