Leeds United forward Souleymane Doukara has been hit with an eight-game ban by the Football Association for biting an opponent.
The FA has also fined the 24-year-old £5,000 after an independent regulatory commission found him guilty of a violent conduct charge that he denied.
The incident occurred in the 54th minute of last month's Championship match at home to Fulham, when Doukara bit Cottagers defender Fernando Amorebieta.
Leeds expressed their disappointment with the ban in a statement released on the club website.
"The club is disappointed with the outcome and the length of the ban given to Souleymane Doukara," the statement read.
With just nine games of the season to go, Doukara will only be available to play once more this campaign on the final day at Preston North End.
