Leeds United have apologised after a fan ran onto the pitch and attacked Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Chris Kirkland during Friday's 1-1 draw at Hillsborough.
The supporter hit Kirkland in the face following Michael Tonge's late equaliser for the visitors.
"Leeds would like to publicly apologise and condemn the actions of the fan who attacked Chris Kirkland," read the statement.
"The club will fully co-operate with the police to identity the fan involved. The majority of Leeds United fans will be ashamed by his actions."
The man in question was able to make his way back into the away end before he was apprehended.
