Leeds United boss Brian McDermott has praised debutant Jack Butland for his performance in the 0-0 draw away to Middlesbrough this afternoon.
The young goalkeeper pulled off a series of impressive saves throughout the 90 minutes as United left the Riverside with a hard-earned point today.
Butland sealed a loan move to Elland Road from Stoke City until the end of the season earlier this week, and McDermott says that the youngster could not have hoped for a better start to his Leeds career.
"That's a positive point for us," he told reporters at full time. "Middlesbrough made it difficult for us and had some good chances.
"But Jack Butland was outstanding, the back four were excellent and the whole team put in a good shift."
Leeds, who remain 10th in the Championship table following the result, face Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road next weekend.
