Brian McDermott has said that he wants his Leeds United team to play passing football.

The 52-year-old took charge at Elland Road last week and has won both of his opening games.

"I try to play a system that suits the players," Sky Sports News quotes McDermott as saying. "When I was at Reading we had two wingers, we had to play a pressing game and got out of the league playing that way.

"This team here have got players who can pass the ball, so we play that way. I enjoyed watching them [against Burnley].

"We had a lot of the ball, players were comfortable on the ball and they looked like they wanted the ball. That's the most important thing because you have to be brave when you play football. You have to want the ball and they did."

McDermott's four-year reign at the Madejski Stadium came to an end in March.
