Brian McDermott has revealed that he only considered jumping swiftly back into management because Leeds United came calling.
The 52-year-old was appointed as the new boss at Elland Road following Neil Warnock's decision to leave the club before the close of the season.
While McDermott was sacked by Reading just last month, he has admitted that he expected to be out of work until the summer.
"I thought this may come in the summer and not at this point, but it just feels right for me now," McDermott told Sky Sports News. "There's probably no club that I would have gone to apart from this one.
"Having been around the place, and seeing the stadium and the training ground, everything about it just feels really right for me."
McDermott's move was finalised with a three-year contract.
