Neil Redfearn believes that Massimo Cellino's style of running a football club can bring success to Leeds United.

Leeds United caretaker manager Neil Redfearn has insisted that owner Massimo Cellino can enjoy success with his style of running a football club.

Cellino's preference to appoint a head coach, rather than a manager, has been criticised, but Redfearn believes that whoever is appointed next can benefit from the system.

"There's always plusses and drawbacks with whichever scenario," the 49-year-old told reporters. "But the good thing about having a head coach rather than a manager is that the responsibility is shared.

"If you've got a manager, usually the buck starts and stops with the manager. A head coach's role is more of a shared responsibility.

"It happens and has been successful in Italy and other countries, so there's no reason why it can't work in this country."

Leeds meet Birmingham City in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
