The Together Leeds consortium could still be interested in purchasing Leeds United if Massimo Cellino's proposed takeover isn't allowed by the Football League.

According to the Yorkshire Post, the consortium are keeping an eye on the situation and are ready to pounce with a new offer to current owners GFH Capital if Cellino's deal, which was agreed last month, falls through.

The Football League is expected to announce whether Cellino has passed their 'fit and proper owners' test soon, but the likelihood of the Italian being granted a 75% stake in the club was diminished by his tax evasion conviction yesterday.

If Cellino isn't granted ownership and a new buyer isn't found, Leeds could plunge into administration because of their financial problems.
