Leeds United earned a 2-0 victory over Everton in their pre-season friendly at Elland Road this afternoon.
Chris Wood had an early chance on goal for the hosts, but his powerful half-volley was beaten away by Joel Robles.
Everton worked their first opening moments later when Kieran Dowell was found by Arouna Kone, but the teenager could only drill his strike wide.
Alex Mowatt had the next attempt on goal for Leeds, with a curling effort that flashed inches wide of the post.
In the closing minutes of the first half, both teams had the ball in the back of the net, but Wood's effort was disallowed for offside, while Tyias Browning had a strike chalked off for a foul.
After the break, Conor McAleny almost broke the deadlock for the hosts with a header at the back post from Antonee Robinson's cross, but his effort was kept out by Marco Silvestri.
However, it was Leeds who took the lead a minute later through Mowatt, who exchanged passes with Sam Byram before guiding a strike past Robles.
With 10 minutes left to play Leeds scored a second goal, as Wood's strike from range took a deflection and looped into the net over the helpless Robles to seal the win.
