Burnley and Luton Town are reportedly interested in signing Leeds United attacker Ian Poveda ahead of the 2024-25 season.
The 24-year-old has failed to cement his place in the first-team fold at Elland Road since securing a switch from European champions Manchester City in January 2020.
Poveda has experienced a number of temporary spells away from Leeds in search of regular senior action, including at Blackpool and Blackburn Rovers in the Championship.
After making 10 appearances for Daniel Farke's side at the beginning of this campaign, the winger was sent on loan to second-tier strugglers Sheffield Wednesday.
Despite missing the Owls' last five league fixtures due to injury, Poveda made a positive impression at Hillsborough as Danny Rohl's men avoided relegation to League One.
Burnley, Luton considering moves for Leeds man Poveda?
According to Colombian outlet Diario AS, two Premier League strugglers are interested in signing Leeds' Poveda during the summer transfer window.
It is understood that both Burnley and Luton are targeting the 24-year-old as someone who could help them secure an immediate return to the top flight next season.
With Poveda's contract at Elland Road expiring at the conclusion of the campaign, he would be able to join either the Clarets or the Hatters on a free transfer ahead of the 2024-25 term.
The winger's stock has risen significantly following his international debut for Colombia in 2023, with the former Citizen featuring for the South Americans during friendly clashes with Venezuela and Mexico in December.
Sitting 18th and 19th respectively in the Premier League standings, Luton and Burnley are preparing for life back in the Championship - a division in which Poveda has showcased his considerable ability in recent years.
Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday 'also keen on Poveda'
The report adds that current second-tier outfit Sunderland are keen on securing the services of soon-to-be free agent Poveda during the summer trading point.
After finishing inside the top six at the end of the 2022-23 term, a lack of squad depth and managerial failures sentenced the Black Cats to a disappointing 13th-placed finish this season.
With the future of 15-goal winger Jack Clarke unclear amid Premier League interest, Sunderland are said to be looking towards Poveda as a potential replacement for their leading marksman.
Rohl and Sheffield Wednesday have expressed their desire to retain the services of the Colombia international - a wish that could become a reality after the Owls escaped relegation to League One.
