Castellon have reportedly failed with an approach for Leeds United midfielder Pablo Hernandez.
While the 35-year-old has made nine appearances in the Premier League this season, just two of those outings have come from the starting lineup.
Marcelo Bielsa has provided the veteran playmaker with just 16 minutes of football since Leeds were eliminated by Crawley Town in the FA Cup on January 10.
However, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Hernandez will not be allowed to sign for his boyhood club before the summer.
Hernandez is co-owner of the second-tier Spanish side and has previously stated that he wants to end his career at the club.
The former Valencia man has just under 18 months remaining on his contract at Elland Road.
