Leeds United manager Neil Warnock has said that he is hoping to secure the long-term future of El Hadji Diouf later today.
The 31-year-old Senegalese forward joined the Yorkshire club on a non-contract basis earlier this month and Warnock is now keen for him to sign a permanent deal.
"We have held talks and, with him being on a non-contract, he can be released early next week if we don't sign him and he is free to talk to other clubs," said Warnock.
"I hope we can give him some sort of offer that is acceptable to him before Tuesday."
Diouf, who has made four appearances for United this month, is reportedly wanted by several teams outside of England.
