Leicester boss Dean Smith has revealed that Caglar Soyuncu is ruled out of Sunday's must-win game against West Ham United.
With two points separating them from safety, Leicester know they have to beat West Ham and hope that Everton drop points against Bournemouth if they are to avoid relegation.
The Foxes will go into the final day encounter without the services of Soyuncu, who has failed to recover from a hamstring issue in time for Sunday's home meeting.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Smith told reporters: "No he's not (fit), Cags tried to get himself back into training yesterday but just felt it, so obviously it's too close.
"But the fact that he wanted to push himself with the intention shows a lot of character. He's definitely out."
With his contract expiring at the end of the season, it is likely that the centre-back has played his last game for the club.
Soyunucu, who has made 132 competitive appearances for the Foxes, is widely expected to join Atletico Madrid when his contract expires next month.
In more positive news, Kieran Dewsbury-Hall is expected to return to the matchday squad after recovering from an ankle injury, which has kept him out of the last two games.
Commenting on Dewsbury-Hall's injury status, Smith said: "He's good, he's been training with us, so he's available for selection."
There were also concerns over the availability of Kelechi Iheanacho, Jonny Evans, Ricardo Pereira and Wilfred Ndidi, but Smith has revealed that only the latter is a doubt for Sunday's contest.
"Kelechi is fine, Jonny Evans is fine," the Leicester boss added. "Ricardo Pereira, we scanned him and he's fine.
"Wilf is the only question mark at the moment, we're still waiting to see if he can train tomorrow. He hasn't trained yet."
The Foxes will be looking to end a five-game winless (D3, L2) when they welcome the Hammers to the King Power Stadium on Sunday. body check tags ::
