Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson hails his side as they claim their fourth victory on the spin despite not being at their best against Burnley at Turf Moor.

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson has conceded that his side were fortunate to take all three points from their Premier League clash against Burnley this afternoon.

The defining moment of the match came in the 59th minute when the Clarets were awarded a penalty when Matthew Taylor was fouled in the area. The 33-year-old took the spot himself, but saw his effort rebound off the post to safety.

Leicester hit the home side on the counter and edged ahead seconds later when Michael Duff diverted a cross towards his own goal which was kept out by Tom Heaton, only for Jamie Vardy to tap home from close range to earn his side a decisive victory.

Pearson told BBC Sport: "We weren't at our best, in the sense that our football wasn't sparkling, but both sides were committed to the game. We took advantage of a disappointing moment for them.

"I think the players have got rewards for the performances they have put in for a long time. We had to battle. I can't honestly say that we deserved to win the game, but once you get ahead, you have to make sure you see the game out.

"You've got to find ways of winning games. The players have got eight months experience in the Premier League. The players have deserved the breaks they've got, through a lot of honesty, hard work and ability. It's always a difficult league to be successful in, and we've got a lot of hard work to do. If people think the hard work's done, they're in for a shock."

Leicester moved out of the bottom three as a result of their fourth top-flight win on the spin.
