Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson is adamant that he will not apologise over the "spat" with a fan which occurred during their 3-1 home defeat to Liverpool.

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has insisted that he will not say sorry over the "spat" with a fan which occurred during their 3-1 loss to Liverpool.

Pearson admitted after the defeat at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday - which was Leicester's sixth in seven games and left them bottom of the table - that he had been involved in a row with a supporter.

Supporters Club chairman Cliff Ginnetta has called for him to apologise, but Pearson, who is 5/2 to be the next Premier League boss sacked, is adamant that he will be doing nothing of the sort.

"I've had run-ins with fans in the past and sometimes, in the heat of the moment, these things happen," the 51-year-old told reporters.

"But there certainly won't be any apology, let's put it like that."

Leicester will be looking to end a nine-match winless run when they visit Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.
