Liverpool returned to the top half of the table by coming from behind to beat Leicester City 3-1 at the King Power Stadium.
The visitors fell behind when Leonardo Ulloa's shot struck the post before hitting Simon Mignolet on the way to crossing the line, but Adam Lallana equalised to get his side back on level terms.
Steven Gerrard slotted home early in the second half, before Leicester were dealt a blow when Wes Morgan received a red card for stopping Rickie Lambert's route to goal.
Jordan Henderson completed the victory in the 83rd minute as Liverpool recorded back-to-back wins for just the second time this season.

A famous 5-3 win over Manchester United in September feels like a long time ago. The Foxes head into the game bottom of the table. Can they begin the recovery tonight?
The mood in the Liverpool camp is slightly different. Brendan Rodgers will be fully aware that there is a lot of improving to do, but Glen Johnson's winner against Stoke City on the weekend could be a turning point in their season. The challenge now is to go on a winning run in December as they look to catch the teams competing with them for a spot in next season's Champions League.

It might have been expected, but the big team news is that Steven Gerrard returns to the Liverpool side after starting Saturday's game on the bench. The selection of the captain is one of three changes as Joe Allen, Jose Enrique and Philippe Coutinho make way for Gerrard, Javier Manquillo and Adam Lallana.
Pearson has been speaking to Leicester's official website. The Foxes boss was pretty happy with the performance with QPR, but his hopeful that his side can get over the line this evening.
"Same side and we need to do the same things going forward and improve defensively. Must believe in what we're capable of," Pearson claimed.
Is this run destined to come to an end tonight?
Whether it's been necessary or not, the pre-game build-up has been dominated by Steven Gerrard, who for the first time since he was a youngster is not guaranteed a place in the Liverpool team. At 34, Rodgers does have to consider managing the midfielder's minutes, but with his contract expiring at the end of the season, should we be getting used to the idea of Gerrard playing for another team? The Liverpool fans won't want to believe that it's a possibility. He'll be desperate to prove his worth once again tonight.
Not many of the Leicester supporters will have been thinking about Gerrard over the past few days. The Foxes are in trouble. It was always going to be tough back in the Premier League, but they've really struggled after such a bright start. The performances haven't been too bad, in truth, but they need points as soon as possible. A positive result this evening will surely give Pearson's side a big boost heading towards Christmas.

Liverpool are without Mario Balotelli once again tonight due to injury, but he could be missing for an extended spell if the Football Association decide to take action against him following a controversial Instagram post. With Sturridge on the treatment table too, Rodgers needs the Italian to be available.

Liverpool will get the game underway.
Nervy start at the back from Liverpool as Mignolet slices the ball out of play following a heavy pass from Skrtel. The Belgian didn't look happy with his teammate.
The early signs suggest that Gerrard is playing slightly further forward than he has done for the majority of this season. As expected, Lucas is sitting just in front of the visiting defence.
Leicester win the first corner of the game, but Liverpool defend the set piece well as Vardy is pressured at the front post, before Gerrard reaches the second ball to clear the danger.
Clever from Sterling as he collects a pass from Lallana before getting in front of De Laet to win a free kick on the left wing. Gerrard's free kick is delivered to the near post, but Skrtel is unable to make the desired contact with the header.
Worrying signs for Liverpool. De Laet does far better against Sterling this time to dispossess the tricky winger with a brilliant tackle. Unfortunately for the visitors, Sterling limps away from the challenge. Rodgers will be hoping it's not a serious knock.
Lallana is invited to shoot, but it's Leicester who get onto the front foot when Morgan makes an important block. Vardy's pace takes him away from Toure and he tries his luck with a low effort which drifts a couple of yards wide of the post.
Schlupp is slightly fortunate to avoid a booking when he pulls down Lallana, who has seen plenty of the ball in the early stages of the game. Liverpool have lacked a cutting edge so far.
Sterling is furious when De Laet jumps in to bring him down on the wing. It looks like an obvious foul, but there's no whistle. That's turning into a key battle between two very fast players on the left. Sterling appears to have shaken off the knock he picked up earlier.
Better from Liverpool as Lambert curls an inviting cross into the path of Sterling, who is put off in the box by the attention of Schmeichel and Wasilewski. Sterling thinks the visitors should have a corner, but he is left disappointed again.
A terrible touch from Skrtel invites pressure from Schlupp, but the cross into the Liverpool box is cleared away. Schlupp then miscues a volley on the edge of the box as Leicester show signs of improving.
CHANCE! Liverpool almost gift the hosts a goal. It's an awful miss from Cambiasso. Mignolet attempts a risky pass across the defence to Manquillo, but it's never strong enough to find the right-back and Cambiasso reacts quickest. However, the Argentine misses an open goal by a yard.
GOAL! LEICESTER 1-0 LIVERPOOL (MIGNOLET)
It gets even worse for Mignolet. Leicester pile the pressure on, but it looks like the visitors will survive when Skrtel clears Vardy's effort off the line. Ulloa picks up the loose ball before seeing his strike rebound off the post, hit Mignolet's back and cross the line, despite the best efforts of the Belgian shot-stopper. Leicester lead!
Liverpool attempt to produce an immediate response, but there's no luck for the visitors as Johnson fires a speculative effort into the stands from 30 yards out.
GOAL! LEICESTER 1-1 LIVERPOOL (LALLANA)
There's the reaction the visitors wanted to see! It's Lallana who gets Liverpool back on level terms as he collects a knockdown from Lambert, before leaving Schmeichel helpless with a fine low strike from around 12 yards out. Great finish from the former Southampton ace.
Skrtel is really struggling this evening. Another poor clearance from the defender gifts the ball to Ulloa, who does well to win his side a corner. Fortunately for Liverpool, the Foxes can't force a breakthrough from the set piece.
Lambert does very well to hold off a challenge from Wasilewski, and he should be given a free kick after being pulled down by the centre back. Incredibly, Lee Mason shakes his head and walks away from the Liverpool forward.
Great defending from De Laet as he jumps high enough to get in the way of Skrtel's powerful header. Neither side look willing to take a step backwards, which is leaving plenty of space for the attacking players to work their magic. There should be more goals in this game.
Decent opening for Mahrez as he sprints away from a couple of Liverpool players before seeing Mignolet make a good save from his 25-yard effort. Luckily for Mignolet, he didn't have to move too much to get his hands on the ball.
Rodgers may have expected his side to keep things a bit tighter with Gerrard, Henderson and Lucas in midfield, but it's been too easy for Leicester to get at the visiting defence. At some stage we may see Gerrard drop slightly deeper to help out Lucas.
YELLOW CARD! Lallana gets the first booking of the game for a late challenge on Vardy as the Leicester forward looked to lead the attack for the hosts. There should be no complaints from Lallana.
Lallana is left on the floor by a heavy challenge from Wasilewski, but it looks like the England international will be fine to continue. Leicester are starting to cause problems on the left wing, with Manquillo struggling to deal with the threat posed by Vardy and Schlupp.
The Leicester supporters are delighted with how the hosts are pressing Liverpool, who are twice forced to send the ball back to Mignolet in the space of a couple of minutes. Excellent defensive work from the Foxes.
The fourth official confirms that there will be two minutes added on.
Lambert does well again to hold up play and pick out Lallana, but an offside flag halts Liverpool's progress. Poor from Lallana, who scored the 50th goal of his league career earlier this evening.
HALF TIME: LEICESTER 1-1 LIVERPOOL
An intriguing first half comes to an end at the King Power Stadium. It's been very even, but Leicester will be disappointed that they allowed Liverpool to equalise so soon after they had broken the deadlock. Leicester have looked slightly more dangerous in the final third of the pitch. Lallana's effort was the only time Liverpool hit the target in the first half.
Leonardo Ulloa may be the one celebrating in the picture below, but the opener will surely go down as a Mignolet own goal. It's not been a great season for the Belgian. He was unlucky to concede, but he's looked far from confident tonight.
BENCH WATCH: I mentioned that Liverpool have allowed too many runners to get through in midfield tonight, so it wouldn't be a surprise if Allen made an appearance at some stage in the second half. Pearson will be pretty happy with his side, but he does have the likes of Marc Albrighton and Anthony Knockaert on the bench.
The players are back out on the pitch. It will be Leicester who get the second half underway.
SUBSTITUTION: Manquillo struggled in the first half, and Rodgers decided to make the change at the break. Alberto Moreno is on, so Johnson will switch to right-back.

Liverpool can't relieve the pressure. It's been all Leicester since the break, but they need to turn possession into chances. A poor touch from Vardy in a good position brings a promising move to an end.
Cambiasso does very well to earn some space in midfield, but he leaves his teammates frustrated by firing over from distance. Leicester can't afford to gift possession back to the visitors.
GOAL! LEICESTER 1-2 LIVERPOOL (GERRARD)
Playing Gerrard in an advanced position pays off for Liverpool! Sterling leads the charge on the left before seeing his cross deflected into the path of Gerrard, who keeps calm in a congested box to slot past a helpless Schmeichel. Can Leicester respond?
A half chance falls to Mahrez at the other end, but he's unable to keep his effort from creeping over the crossbar. There are more opportunities in this game for Leicester.
A silly challenge on Sterling from Mahrez gifts Liverpool a free kick in a good position, but Morgan rises highest to clear Gerrard's delivery into the box. Henderson fires wide of the post moments later.
Another good spell of pressure from Liverpool as Sterling, Gerrard and Lallana lead the charge. However, the move comes to an end when the latter trips over on the edge of the box under pressure from Schlupp.
RED CARD! It's going to be even tougher for Leicester now. Morgan is shown a straight red card by Lee Mason after pulling down Lambert, who had sprinted away from the central defender and looked to be on course to test Schmeichel. It's difficult to argue with the decision.
YELLOW CARD! Gerrard takes one for the team by bringing down James as the midfielder looked to launch a counter attack for the hosts. After taking the lead and being gifted the numerical advantage, Liverpool must protect the defence. If they do, spaces will open up at the other end of the pitch.
Confusion on the touchline as Liam Moore looks set to replace Schlupp, before the change is abandoned at the last moment. Morgan is in trouble again after trying to sit in the dugout. He's finally sent back inside.
SUBSTITUTION: Rodgers sends on Allen to replace Lallana, which suggests that the visitors want to limit the space on offer in midfield.
Important clearance from Toure as the Ivorian comes across to deny Ulloa after Vardy had done brilliantly to set up the chance for his teammate.

Leicester just haven't been able to create the chances they needed to get back into this game. Morgan's dismissal was certainly the turning point. A goal for the hosts now would set up a dramatic finish, but Liverpool are looking comfortable.
Ouch. Skrtel holds firm to block a powerful strike from James with his face. The centre back hasn't been at his best, but that was a brave piece of defending.
Skrtel is forced off the pitch after receiving treatment, but it looks like he can continue. The fourth official confirms that there will be six minutes added on.
