Full-back Ricardo Pereira has held positive talks over a new Leicester City contract, according to a report.
The 28-year-old has been out of action since the EFL Cup quarter-final against Liverpool, when the defender suffered a fractured fibula, and he is not expected back until the end of February at the earliest.
Prior to that, the Portuguese international had made eight appearances in the Premier League under Brendan Rodgers, and he is someone that the Foxes boss wants to keep around.
According to Leicestershire Live, Pereira and the club have begun negotiations on a new deal for him, but nothing has officially been agreed upon yet by the two parties.
Pereira only has 18 months left on his current contract, with reports claiming that the extension could see him commit until 2026 when things are agreed upon.
Leicester City will be back in action on Sunday 6 next month when they face Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup. body check tags ::
