Riyad Mahrez's agent has reportedly been trying to persuade Roma to up their offer for the Leicester City winger to £40m with the inclusion of add-ons.
The Serie A club have been chasing the Algeria international all summer and have made a final bid believed to be £31.8m, leaving "the ball in their court".
Roma have reportedly also set a deadline of midnight on Tuesday, August 15 for Leicester to respond to their latest offer, and will then move on to alternative targets.
According to Sky Sports News, however, Mahrez's representative has been in talks with the Giallorossi over upping the bid further.
Mahrez has scored 35 goals in over 100 appearances for Leicester since a £560,000 move from French Ligue 2 side Le Havre in 2014, and played in their 4-3 defeat at Arsenal on Friday.
