Leicester City boss Craig Shakespeare has made signing Troy Deeney from Watford his top priority this summer, according to a report.
The Foxes are said to have already launched a £20m offer, which has fallen some way short of their Premier League rivals' valuation.
Watford were recently said to be unwilling to budge for anything less than £32m for their skipper, having also attracted interest from West Bromwich Albion in the past few months.
It is claimed by The Mirror that City have not been put off by this, however, and they are confident of landing the striker for a sum of around £25m - the same amount they had rejected 12 months ago.
Deeney, who signed a new contract at Vicarage Road last summer after seeing his path to the then-champions blocked, insisted in April that he will only leave if Watford are keen to cash in.
