Craig Shakespeare reveals that no breakthrough has yet been made regarding Adrien Silva's Leicester City registration following his move from Sporting Lisbon.

Craig Shakespeare has admitted that the situation regarding Adrien Silva's Leicester City registration is still an ongoing process.

The Foxes had hoped to sign the Portugal international for £22m after an agreement was reached between the two clubs on transfer deadline day.

However, Silva's registration was blocked by FIFA after the paperwork for his move from Sporting Lisbon to Leicester arrived 14 seconds after the transfer deadline.

Pressed for an update, Shakespeare told reporters at Thursday's press conference ahead of Leicester's weekend game at Huddersfield Town: "Unfortunately it's still an ongoing process.

"I'd love to be able to say he is available for selection but as I said from a football point of view we are awaiting the legal department so I have no further news for you on that, I'm sorry.

"I'm waiting for news, I'm waiting for an update and hopefully I will get that in the next 24-48 hours."

Silva is reported to have returned to his native Portugal to work on recovering from a rib injury suffered in his last match for Sporting.
