Lille have registered a comfortable 3-0 victory over Evian TG at home in Ligue 1 to move up to second in the table for the time being.
The hosts started the brighter of the two teams and could have taken the lead as early as the sixth minute had Simon Kjaer's header from close range not clipped the top of the crossbar.
Six minutes later Lille surged ahead, Salomon Kalou flicking home Florent Balmont's shot from close range.
Facundo Bertoglio should have equalised for Evian in the 16th minute when he dragged his shot from the edge of the Lille six-yard box wide and was punished for his miss just past the half-hour mark.
Balmont raced down the right and floated in a cross that Nolan Roux headed against the underside of the Evian crossbar. The ball cannoned off the frame of the goal, hit the back of goalkeeper Jesper Hansen and went into the net.
Ronny Rodelin wrapped up the points for Lille on 71 minutes when he scored their third goal, slotting home past Hansen after collecting a loose ball inside the area.
