Lille have remained within touching distance of Paris Saint-Germain at the summit of Ligue 1 after securing a 2-1 victory over Bastia at Stade Pierre-Mauroy this evening.
PSG's 3-1 win over Rennes on Saturday ensured that victory was necessary for Rene Girard's men to remain four points adrift of les Parisiens.
The hosts were made to work hard for their points, though, as, Ludovic Genest opened the scoring for Bastia after just three minutes of play.
However, Salmon Kalou levelled matters on 43 minutes before completing his double moments before the break, and it proved sufficient for the French outfit to claim the points.
Lille, who sit third in France's top flight, are now two points off second-placed Monaco.
