Lille have moved up to eighth place in the Ligue 1 table with a 2-0 win at home to high-flying Rennes.
The hosts took the lead in fortunate circumstances with 24 minutes on the clock as Chris Mavinga turned the ball into his own net following Ronny Rodelin's cross.
The victory was sealed just after the hour as Dimitri Payet converted at the near post.
The defeat has seen Rennes remain in fifth position in the standings.
