Liverpool forward Fabio Borini believes that getting a result against Basel tomorrow evening will ease pressure on the team ahead of their Champions League group clash against Real Madrid.
Should the Reds earn a victory in Switzerland, they will have six points on the board in Group B following their 2-1 victory over Ludogorets Razgrad a fortnight ago.
Despite Basel suffering a heavy 5-1 defeat at the hands of Madrid in their opening Champions League outing, Borini believes that the Swiss champions can pose a "dangerous" threat.
"It would maybe give us a chance to be more relaxed against Real Madrid and not thinking that we need to win otherwise we are out," Borini told the club's official website. "It would take a little bit of pressure off.
"We saw that Basel can score goals if they take all their chances. If they are more clinical, they can be really dangerous, even if they lost 5-1 against Real Madrid.
"It's going to be a hard game because they play football and are a good side. They have been in the Champions League for the past few years so they have experience in the competition and they can play."
Liverpool, who face Madrid at Anfield on October 22, head into Wednesday's encounter on the back of a 1-1 draw with Merseyside rivals Everton.
