New Liverpool signing Emre Can has revealed that he is looking forward to playing in the Champions League with the club this season.
The 20-year-old midfielder joined the Reds from Bayer Leverkusen earlier this summer for a reported fee of £10m.
With Liverpool's last appearance in the Champions League coming back in the 2009-2010 campaign, Can is excited about being part of the club's return to the competition this term.
"I am really confident about us going into the Champions League this season," the Germany Under-21 international told the Liverpool Echo.
"The whole team, the whole club and the city is looking forward to getting back in the Champions League because Liverpool haven't played there for a couple of years."
Liverpool play their final pre-season match of the summer tomorrow when they entertain Borussia Dortmund at Anfield.
