Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has suggested that he expects to have Thiago Alcantara available for Saturday's Champions League final against Real Madrid.
On Sunday, the Spaniard was forced off before half time at Wolverhampton Wanderers, it later emerging that he was suffering with an Achilles issue.
Klopp indicated that the playmaker looked unlikely to make the showpiece occasion with Real, the rivals of his former club Barcelona.
However, speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Klopp now expects the 31-year-old to feature in his squad as the Merseyside giants attempt to win a third trophy of the season.
Klopp said: "I only met him just now but he has a good chance [of playing the fixture]. He will be training this afternoon.
"He did some stuff this morning and he will doing a session later with the players. At the moment he looks like he can be part of training tomorrow. That would be pretty helpful, obviously.
"We will then go from there. It is surprisingly good. After the game I was not feeling very positive about it, but we got news that night that it didn't look that bad."
Thiago has played an important role in Liverpool's Champions League campaign, making six starts and three substitutes in the competition. body check tags ::
