Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp hints that he is not entirely satisfied with his side's 1-1 draw at Borussia Dortmund in their Europa League quarter-final first leg.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said that his side could have beaten Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final this evening.

The Reds took the lead through Divock Origi at the Westfalenstadion and missed clear chances through Origi again and Dejan Lovren before Mats Hummels levelled things up for the hosts.

Klopp acknowledged that his side were heavy underdogs against the favourites to win the entire tournament, but hinted that he was not entirely satisfied with the 1-1 draw.

"Dortmund is a pretty good side and everyone could see that but we had our moments and we could have won the game," he told BT Sport.

"I'm pretty sure a lot of people thought we would lose two, three or 4-0. But at some moments we had Dortmund and around our goal we were brilliant. We are not that far on our way like they are and we cannot at the moment play like they play, but we can defend and score goals so we can win.

"Divock was made for this game with the space he can make and how he can hold the ball."

Klopp was making his first return to Dortmund since his seven-year stay at the club came to an end last summer, and he acknowledged the reception that he received from the home fans.

"It was nice. A lot of people spoke about it but when I came onto the pitch it was respectful applause and that's nice. That's how it should be," he added.

Liverpool will welcome Dortmund back to Anfield for the second leg next Thursday.
