Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno has acknowledged that his side were "rolled over" during the second half of their Europa League final defeat to Sevilla.
The Premier League club held a 1-0 advantage at the break thanks to a goal from Daniel Sturridge but Sevilla equalised within 18 seconds of the restart and eased to a 3-1 victory in Basel.
Moreno was at fault for his former club's leveller but he says that the La Liga outfit were fully deserving of their third successive Europa League crown.
The 23-year-old is quoted by Estadio Deportivo as saying: "Congratulations to Sevilla. We played a good Europa League. We've had a good season, but have not been able to lift a trophy.
"We were better in the first half, and had more chances. It's true that they rolled over us in the second half. They came out flying, and scored three times in 20 minutes. They were the better team. They deserved to win the trophy. We must just lift our heads and think of next season."
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has criticised Moreno's performance in Wednesday's fixture, claiming that the Merseyside giants should sign a new left-back during the summer.
